I was born in Samsun, Türkiye. After spending eighteen beautiful years there, I started my bachelors in Ankara, Türkiye. My time in Ankara includes many travels both within and abroad. All those travel experiences allowed me to meet different cultural dynamics and political issues, which gained me a critical thinking ability and a deep interest in my studies.
Currently, I am a PhD researcher in Politics at the University of Limerick, studying mainly focusing on International Relations and more specifically Regional/Area Studies. Pursuing research on Politics and International Relations is something I really enjoy all the time. As a passionate individual for academic research, I had multiple chances to visit diverse universities in the world with different positions. I have many experience in writing, including articles, reports, editorials, and news compilations, as well as conducting some interviews. I was also involved in some projects as a research assistant. I often attend methodological trainings to further refine my research skills, gain a broader understanding of research methodology, and try to specialize in qualitative methods. Overall, I thrive on any politics-related research experience and enjoy pushing the limits of academic research.
With the PhD, my teaching adventure also started and it has become another passion for me. As I truly adore academic research and teaching, I am a tutor at the Politics&Public Administration department as well as the Regional Writing Centre at the University of Limerick in Ireland.

Additional Info / Hobbies
I have been trained in Classical Turkish Music with an instrument called “ney (a flute)" since 2008. The way of training I received is called “meshk system” which is a traditional style of learning based on “hoca-talebe (professor/mentor-student)” relationship. My first hoca was Dr. Turgut Tokaç who taught me the basics, then I did lots of work with Ahmet Erbay. I can read and write notes and I received intense training in "makam (the system of melody types)" and "usul (the rhythmic patterns)" in Classical Turkish Music. If someone knows usul, this makes that person already familiar with the "kudüm" and "tef" too, so I can play the kudüm and the tef at the beginners level.
I like cooking and trying different recipes from all over the world. I am a strong tea drinker and enjoy watching independent movies. I do pilates and cherish hiking and travelling.
