Yoga with Safia

I have been practising yoga for twenty years and have been facilitating Hatha Yoga classes for ten, currently in Herstmonceux, Hailsham and Eastbourne, East Sussex where I continue to learn from and share with several different groups of yogis in a variety of venues including a health retreat, a senior citizens' club and a mental health unit. A strong believer that yoga is for everybody, my aim is to make it as accessible as possible to all, and I love helping others discover the benefits of a regular practice, bringing enriching aspects of this ancient tradition into a modern, everyday context.

Classes are typically one hour long, gentle Hatha style with a focus on the breath, incorporating energising stretches combined with nourishing relaxation to benefit body and mind.

Forays into the world of Bollywood dance are a more recent but increasingly popular sideline. I have presented a series of workshops in which we learn some beautiful dance moves and discover a little about India's amazing film industry; the theme is joyful movement and lighthearted fun, with a few yoga stretches added to the mix. This year I have had great fun presenting Bollywood tasters at The Big Beach Cafe, Hove Lagoon, near the seaside.
