Herzgraf: Graf was one of the sweetest horses and was loved so much here at SHH! Graf came to Sadie's Horse Haven with EPM that had been left untreated. As soon as we could we had him treated, but the disease had progressed beyond repair. Graf lived with permanent neurological issues due to the infection. This caused Graf to fall easily, walk unsteadily and at odd angles. Graf lived his best life in retirement at SHH. He spent the rest of his days grazing with his herd and soaking up love from volunteers and staff!

Zoey Girl: Zoey was in a pasture with another horse. We were made aware that something may be wrong due to lack of care. We learned that the owner had come down with dementia and had someone else that was supposed to be feeding and caring for the animals. That person had not been showing up. By the time help arrived her pasture mate had passed and Zoey was quite emaciated. SHH was full at the time so she was fostered and fattened up. When SHH had an open stall Zoey was moved there. She continued to thrive. She was beautiful, kind, and so gentle. She began what we believed to be a colic one night & passed away. We had to say good-bye to our sweet, sweet girl and lay her to rest under her favorite grove of trees.
Etta Fetta: Etta was a retired hunter/jumper we received as an owner surrender due to arthritis. She was the matriarch of the herd, and she will forever be in our hearts. Etta passed at the age of 27.
Misty: Misty was found walking down the road in Williston. She was completely emaciated and had severly injured ankle joints. She became a permanent resident of SHH. She was well cared for and loved on until the day of her passing. She will be forever in our hearts.
Sara Bear: We had the pleasure to spend eight months with this kind and beautiful mare. Sara bear was acquired due to her owner passing away. Sara was our teddy bear she loved to be hugged and groomed. She was so gentle and loved to be hand walked. Sara came to us at the approximate age of 30 and on the last day of July we made the decision to send Sara to run in greener pastures. That day was very bittersweet, and our time spent with Sara was priceless. Sara Bear has been reunited with her beloved owner and is no longer in pain. We will always hold a special place in our hearts for our Sara Bear and we are sure her friends at Meadow Wood Stables will too!
