It costs around $50.00 a week to feed just one horse.  Other expenses are farrier, annual vaccines, mandatory coggins exams, as well as emergency vet bills for injuries, colic, and other emergencies that arise.   As we entered 2025, SHH has acquired 4 emergency vet visits.  Other expenses are barn upkeep, buckets, bowls, troughs, trough heaters, electric bills for fans and heaters, pasture upkeep, stall and barn maintenance and the list goes on.  Additionally, there is wear and tear on the vehicle and trailer each time we go to pick up or deliver an animal.  Every dollar that is received as a donation goes immediately to the care and comfort of these amazing animals.
