Here's what this email covers further below:

Local Politics 101 Training

We need to scale up our collective capacity for leadership, and in addition to volunteering into opportunities to practice, that starts with skills trainings! If you missed our last iteration of this training, we're hosting it again TONIGHT from 5:30pm - 7:30pm at the Sacramento LGBT Center with a remote participation option through Zoom.

Can't make it? We're hoping to record the event, register anyways!

Upcoming workshop: "Local Politics 101!". Are you outraged about injustices harrowing within our Sacramento community?? Do you want to participate in local politics, but find out hard to know where to start? Please join us as we all learn, together, how to make Sacramento a more equitable place. Come and learn about how decisions get made in Sacramento, who makes them, and how to participate! When: 11/30, 5:30-7:30pm. Where: 1015 20th St. Hybrid option will be available! Register at: linktr.ee/SunriseSac. Hosted by Sacramento LGBT Community Center, saccenter.org. Workshop by: Sunrise Movement Sacramento and Social Justice PolitiCorps (SJPC) Sacramento.

2024 Election endorsement process moving forwards! Provide your input by 6:30pm December 1st, and get on our electoral email list

Sunrise as an organization has always been involved in building power - and part of our theory of change is building political power by partnering with champions for the Green New Deal who can bring our voice and vision for the future into the halls of power.

We hosted our latest candidate interview for the 2024 election last night, and are collectively deciding through an organization-wide vote whether to endorse or not.

Participate in our endorsement process through a quick vote before 6:30pm tomorrow: sunrisesac.org/endorsements/2024-vote

We categorically and legally can't tell you who to vote for through this email list, but you can tell us which campaigns you're excited about supporting!

For that reason, we have another separate email list that we can use for activities related to elections - please sign up to keep getting our emails there!

To be announced soon! Sunrise Movement 101 introductory session

We need to scale up our collective capacity for leadership. We need your help and participation in order to keep going - and know that many of you are ready and excited to get involved - here's a good place to start. We've been training up a new team of trainers to give you our Sunrise 101 presentation, an introduction of everything you need to get involved and how to get plugged in as an active member of our organization. With our new structure we've also been reworking and tailoring some of the slides, and hope to announce a date or few soon!
