Below is a summary of the ranks within the Park Rangers, their requirements and access to training / equipment.
Hunter
Hunters are not Park Rangers but are registered on the same computer system as us.
They can rent the basic equipment needed to go hunting with cash at the armoury but cannot access any Ranger systems such as radio or dispatches.
Trainee Ranger
Newly employed Rangers under training.
Trainees are new Rangers without access to advanced equipment, they can patrol alone but will ideally be under at least some supervision from other Rangers while they learn.
After a week or two trainees will be invited to do a supervised patrol with a senior ranger to see if they are ready to progress to Assistant Ranger.

Complete first patrol

Advanced driving
Advanced medical
Assistant Ranger
Newly trained or part-time Rangers.
Assistant Rangers are either less active / part time Rangers or have only recently passed initial training. They can access some extra equipment and undergo most specialised training.
Requirements:
Passed supervised patrol
Completed advanced driving or advanced medical training
Training available:
Sea patrol
Pilot training
Mountain Rescue Training
Park Ranger
Experienced Rangers with various training.
Park Rangers have access to most equipment as well as advanced training and the ability to conduct hunting inductions after training.
Requirements:
3 trainings completed
Good activity & ability
Senior recommendation
Training available:
Advanced pilot training
Hunting inductor training
RIU
Senior Park Ranger
Experienced Rangers with additional trust & responsibilities.
Senior Rangers carry out hunting inductions, Ranger training or generally assist with the running of the Rangers in some way. Seniors can access evidence cameras and use the management computer.
Requirements:
Hunting inductor trained
Strict PNC check
Command recommendation
Training available:
Trainer Assessed (Signed off by command to carry out training)
Command
Internal Affairs
Highly trusted Rangers in charge of investigating any misconduct or corruption by hunters and Rangers alike.
Deputy Head Ranger
Members of the Ranger command team who directly assist the Head Ranger to keep the Rangers running properly.
Head Ranger
Ultimately responsible for the Rangers and decision-making.
