Let's Begin

I aim for an easy-as-possible process to begin tutoring!  We may initially exchange some correspondence by email, but I learn the most from speaking with you.

Step 1: Parent Meeting

Let's meet first and discuss your child's needs in a free, 30 minute Zoom call to determine if your child's needs are a good match for my skills and training. Please email for a time to meet: swalkeytutor@gmail.com  In your email, include three possible times that would be convenient for you.

Step 2:  Learn More

First sessions will include informal assessments and inventories so I can learn more about your child and where to begin.  I will also use information you provide from school reports, reports from psychologists, speech therapists and other professionals to create an individualize plan for instruction and goals. This generally takes one or two sessions.

Parent Update

After the initial assessments are complete, we will meet again to review this instructional plan and I will provide a written report with challenges/strengths and goals.

Step 3:  Let's Get to Work

We'll meet at our regularly scheduled times weekly and watch your child's literacy skills grow!
