Sports injuries and how Osteopathy can help
Whether you are a weekend golfer, a footballer, a seasoned tennis player, a competitive athlete, or a hardcore body builder, pain, stiffness and recurring strains will affect your performance and enjoyment of your chosen sport.
Misalignment & muscle imbalances within the body can not only affect the spine, but commonly the shoulders, hips & extremities as well.
At Ryde Osteopathic Practice on the Isle of Wight, a physical examination including muscle testing can highlight problem areas and treat them accordingly. As a fully qualified fitness instructor, as well as a fully qualified Osteopath, David Barton can advise and prescribe sports specific muscle strengthening exercises or stretches tailored for your individual needs.
Quarterly MOTs are advisable for sports men and women to keep your body working efficiently – achieving optimal performance with ease of pain free movement.
Common Sports Injuries Include:
Shoulder Injuries e.g Rotator Cuff Tears
Tennis/ Golfers Elbow
