I grew up in a family of musicians in Harrisonburg, Virginia, a city in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.
I graduated from Indiana University in 2023 with a Ph.D. in mathematics under the guidance of Kent Orr. I also hold an M.A. in mathematics from IU and a B.S. in mathematics and a B.M. in music composition from James Madison University. During graduate school, I continued my composition studies in the IU Jacobs School of Music and helped found the Indiana University Brass Band.
I currently hold a postdoctoral position at University of Virginia, where Slava Krushkal is my mentor.
Outside mathematics, I remain active as a composer and performer. You can find recordings of some of my compositions here. I also enjoy hiking, tabletop gaming, cooking, playing in the Massanutten Brass Band, and spending time with my family.
