Lesson 5 - Modify Commands

I created a gear design and below are the steps I took to make it.

Step 1:

In this step I used the arc command to create the right side of the gear tooth.

Step 2:

In this step I used the trim command to cut off the end of the arc so there was no part sticking off and the gear tooth went into the main body of the gear and not past it.

Step 3:

In this step I used the mirror command to mirror the arc on the right side of the gear tooth to the left side to make the full tooth of the gear.

Step 4:

In this step I used the polar array command to place the gear tooth around the whole gear. There are 12 teeth in total.

Step 5:

In the step I used the scale command to make a smaller version of the original gear. This was made to be used later in the design.

Step 6:

In this step I used the move command to move the small gear away from the inside of the original gear and into the spot it would be for the final design.

Adjustable Support

The drawing with all construction lines. The part is not fully put together at this point.

The part with the construction lines just showing the basic outline of the part. Not every line has been trimmed yet; fillet has also not been applied to the corners.
