In the world of medicine, "Rx" means prescription. Prescriptions are for health and wellness, presumably even for a cure from disease. This project sprung from a desire to create a different kind of prescription, one that is not measured in quantifiable symptoms but rather through emotional openness and healing. This type of prescription is not designed to cure disillusionment with the world, disconnection from others, or disheartenment with one's circumstances. The Rx Project aims instead to create a safe space in which to share our personal journeys through photography, drawing, and/or words - or whatever artistic medium may resonate with us - as a means to bring us farther along a continuum towards healing, whatever that may look like to us. Sharing creates vulnerability, and in that vulnerable and open state is when we can explore who we are, what drives us, what holds us back, and where we want to be. It is a form of therapy. It is a prescription.
Every image in this site is a photograph that I have taken (see About Me). And although every image is not accompanied by a sharing story, each picture has been included because it holds a significant meaning to me in some way. I invite you to explore my healing journey in My Rx.
