Course Communication Policy

I will be an active participant in this course, and will be with you on the journey through the entire semester. You can expect that I will:

1. Respond to all student questions within 24 hours, Monday - Friday.   I sometimes check emails on Saturdays and Sundays, but I will probably not respond to them until Monday.  

2. Communicate with you at least 3 times per week via Announcements, Canvas Inbox messages, grading feedback and/or discussion;

3. Provide grades within 1 week after the due date;

4. Post a few times each discussion and also provide overall comments on discussions via announcements 

How I Will Contact You

1. Email:  I will contact you from my rbennington@vcccd.edu account.

2. Announcements: I typically post an announcement at the start of the week.  If something urgent arises, I will post an announcement as soon as I can.  (It is very important that you set your preferences in Canvas so that announcements will be sent to you directly through your preferred method of notification from Canvas).  

3. Canvas Inbox:  I will sometimes contact you via the Inbox to check in and make sure that everything is going well.

• Send me a message anytime, using the Canvas inbox or my college email: rbennington@vcccd.edu.   (In the title of your email, please reference the name of the course and the CRN.  (I teach several classes at Moorpark and this really helps me to address your question in context).

• Visit me, either in person at my office (HM-208) in the HM (formerly HSS) Building on campus, or via Zoom.  I have student hours every Monday and Wednesday.
