Started over 4 years ago, Sustainability Club was originally designed as a space for in-depth discussions on environmental issues affecting Denver communities and the Regis campus. Since its initial conception, the Sustainability Club has grown to house discussions around environmental justice and racism, service events focused on giving back to the Denver Northside community, and as a hub for resources that students can access throughout their time at Regis University.
To give some background and context for some members of the Sustainability Club, we've decided to introduce ourselves!
Club President
As President of the Sustainability Club, it is my mission to provide resources, opportunities, and access to the environmental world. Whether this takes place through service events, internship/career resources, or our weekly meetings, Sustainability Club is, first and foremost, a community of students. Encouraging education, activism, and discussion on environmental issues faced by communities all across the world is central to our belief that knowledge is power and that Regis University students can make change, lasting change.
Vice President
Hi! My name is Katelyn Schad. I am a Senior majoring in Biochemistry, and I am the Secretary of Regis University’s Sustainability Club. I am extremely passionate about pretty much anything to do with nature and the outdoors, and hope to pursue something in biochemistry with an environmental angle in the future! As a part of the Sustainability Club leadership, I hope to help spread awareness about climate change and to convey the importance of adopting sustainable habits in our lives. Some fun facts about me: I am the oldest of four, I love thunderstorms, and I have a cat who loves to go camping with me! I hope to see you all at our weekly meetings from 6-7pm on Wednesdays!!
