Goal: By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, based on recommendation from staff through the MTSS process, 90% of students receiving Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) social skills small group will show evidence of growth.
The school counselor collaborated with teachers and parents to form an on-going small group based on student needs through the MTSS process. The group focused on social skills through Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. Students in the small group have a daily behavior report card where teachers gather specific data based on student needs.
The group would meet weekly and focus on a particular social skill (identifying feelings, coping skills, demonstrating empathy, reasonable reactions, etc.). Both parents and teachers would receive updates periodically with what skills were taught and practiced with the hope the skills could be implemented across all settings.
The goal is that students are better equipped with strategies needed to support their academic, emotional and social growth. Progress reports from the student's daily behavior report cards were used as the data point to track growth (example below).
Artifact #6: Example of Data Outcome
Daily Behavior Report Card Data
Student behavior data is tracked weekly through the Daily Behavior Report Card (DBRC). An example of a student's progress report is below. We had nine students utilize a DBRC this school year. These students received a check in/check out daily mentor, weekly PBIS social skills small group, and a feedback loop from their teacher. When looking at each student's progress report, eight out of nine have shown positive growth.
