Calling all HBCU undergraduate and graduate student makers, inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs - Apply now to the 2025 AAAS HBCU Making and Innovation Showcase.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), with support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) will support students and faculty from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to participate in the AAAS HBCU Making and Innovation Initiative, Strengthening an Inclusive Innovation Ecosystem through an HBCU Community of Practice.
Through this initiative, student innovators from HBCUs are invited to apply for the 2025 AAAS HBCU Making and Innovation Showcase cohort. Selected teams will design a prototype to address one of the United Nation’s Sustainable Developmental Goals, and receive professional development and e-mentoring before their participation in the in-person Showcase that will take place on September 25-27, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Student teams could be awarded cash prizes for their prototype. The deadline to apply has been extended to this Friday, March 7th at 11:59pm ET.

The Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship announces the Academic Year 2025-26 Startup Scholars Program, an accelerator which aims to empower student entrepreneurs as they grow their business ventures. This program offers $5,000 in funding to HBCU student entrepreneurs around the country complemented by an integrated portfolio of support including one-on-one business consulting/coaching, business management workshops, networking events, and additional funding opportunities.
