On behalf of the Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship, research proposals are now being accepted for the 2025-2026 Faculty Fellowship Program!
This fellowship encourages HBCU faculty of any discipline to conduct innovative and impactful research, that addresses critical challenges, explores new frontiers, and advances knowledge and scholarship related to improving outcomes for entrepreneurs. Fellows receive $10,000 in support and research projects may be at any stage of development.
Projects that could be proposed include, but are not limited to:
Research which provides insight into current issues, challenges, and barriers facing entrepreneurs
Research which highlights best practices for advancing opportunity and outcomes for entrepreneurs
Research which studies entrepreneurial ecosystem building
Research which investigates entrepreneurship education and considers best practices
Research which considers the financing and funding of entrepreneurs

UNCF is pleased to announce that the application deadline has been extended for our research grant opportunity from the HBCU Sustainable Communities Initiative (HBCU SCI), for faculty in member institutions in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Mississippi, Virginia and Tennessee.

The initiative, a collaboration between UNCF, The Thurgood Marshall College Fund and INROADS, trains future business and community leaders in the field of sustainability, preparing them to create and maintain thriving communities through design, planning, investment, and policymaking. HBCU SCI is currently offering HBCU SCI Community Research Fellowships, which provide a platform for college undergraduates to contribute to real-world solutions for pressing sustainability challenges.
HBCU SCI Community Research Grant applications are currently open for faculty mentors. Faculty mentors will oversee college undergraduates in meaningful research projects that engage community stakeholders and seek to find solutions for local sustainability challenges.
