欢迎! huānyíng Welcome! back to MYP5 main page
This assignment will get each of us exploring one narrow topic in Chinese culture, society, history, geography, or language. We will have multiple class times given to researching and working on a project topic of your choice. Everyone in your class will present to the class near the end of this school year.
Step 1: Ideate / choose a topic
add your preferred ideas to our "ideation" document in classroom
work with the teacher to narrow down and clarify your topic
Step 2: Explore
explore information sources, including YouTube, Wikipedia, etc.
note: we will find official sources later, to confirm information
Step 3: Organize
bring your information together under one conceptual focus through either:
IB key concept (well-suited for researching historical topics), or
United Nations Sustainability Goals (UNSGs; well-suited for researching modern-day issues)
work with the teacher and language tools (AI, Google Translate) to create a Chinese presentation.
Step 4: Chinese Presentation
Your final presentation will be in Chinese, so go back through your information and pick out what to summarize from it in Chinese.
Keep it organized according to your key concept or UNSG; include your key concept or UNSG at the start and end of your presentation, including the original definition in the document given.
Choose how you want to present your information to your audience (teacher, classmates, future project creators to build on your work)
poster presentation
slide show (example format ideas)
art/fashion exhibit
spoken word/song/rap (live or recorded)
other display or performance -- discuss with teacher
End your presentation with a general lesson learned about the key concept or UNSG.
be ready to answer questions and discuss in Chinese.
(scoring rubric to come)
