The training gathered participants, agriculture and forestry practitioners, researchers, enthusiasts, and stakeholders interested in agarwood production and sustainable plantation management. The activity focused on introducing the fundamentals of agarwood farming, plantation establishment, tree maintenance, inoculation techniques, and the economic potential of agarwood production as an emerging livelihood and forestry enterprise. The program also emphasized sustainable cultivation practices and the importance of scientific approaches in agarwood production and resin induction.
Dr. Ruffy M. Rodrigo participated in the training and successfully completed the 2-Day Special Training on Basic Agarwood Farming & Inoculation. Through this training, he gained valuable knowledge and practical insights regarding agarwood cultivation, inoculation processes, plantation management, and sustainable production strategies. Anchored on the theme “PSSN @ 25: Navigating the Path Towards Net Zero Carbon Emission by 2050,” the event served as an avenue for scholarly exchange, collaboration, and the advancement of science-based environmental initiatives.
Dr. Ruffy M. Rodrigo participated in the conference as an oral presenter, presenting his research titled “Quantifying Avoided Carbon Emissions and Forest Conservation Benefits of Reducing Hardbound Thesis Requirements Across Philippine State Universities and Colleges.” His study highlighted the environmental implications of reducing paper-based academic requirements and emphasized the potential contribution of higher education institutions toward carbon emission reduction and sustainable forest conservation practices. Dr. Ruffy M. Rodrigo actively participated in the faculty empowerment session, engaging in comprehensive discussions and workshops focused on improving publication success in Scopus-indexed journals. Research Workshop on Forestry Priorities
