Limit Academic Dishonesty in Online Exams Using Best Practices and Respondus Tools


Instructional Goal

The purpose of this learning object is for learners to use Respondus Monitor and Lockdown browser to deliver online exams with minimal academic dishonesty. The learners will also learn best practices to instruct their students so to reduce the need to cheat.

Course Prerequisites

Blackboard or LMS Knowledge

Have basic LMS skills i.e.: Blackboard, Canvas, etc.

Exam Creations

Know how to create and manage an exam in Blackboard or the LMS of your choosing.


Time Management

Course will be online and asynchronous. Time management skills are a must!


Computer Skills

Course will be online so basic computer knowledge and skills are required.


Performance Objectives

Discussions & Best Practices

Participants will discuss with peers the current doubts and issues surrounding academic integrity in online exams. The discussion forum is located at the top of the page or you can click here.


Create online exam using Respondus Monitor & Lockdown Browser

Create an online exam with proper instructions to mitigate cheating using best practices and techniques discussed in Week 1
