Since 2007, Renton Teacher Academy (RTA) has worked to give high school students the opportunity to explore the teaching profession. With a commitment to help diversify the teacher workforce, the program provides hands-on experiences throughout the school year that includes practicums in classrooms throughout Renton School District, college campus visits, and coursework in teaching pedagogy. At each celebration, The Renton Teacher Academy Foundation aims to give monetary scholarships out to students pursuing a post-secondary degree in education. The money for these scholarships is 100% funded through donations.
