The Ready, Set, READ Program

Step 1 : Individual Student Assessment

This is a one-on-one assessment that takes approximately 35-45 minutes and includes a variety of literacy assessments in the following areas;

1.  Letter name and sound 

2.  Phonemic Awareness

3.  Current Decoding Strategies

4.  Phonics Skills

5.  Writing/Spelling 

6.  Reading Fluency if applicable

This assessment gives us the important information we need to determine your child's specific strengths, areas of need, and next steps.

Step 2: Pod Placement

Based on your child's results and age, a "learning pod" will be assigned that would be the best fit for their targeted programming.

What is a "learning pod"? 

A "learning pod" is a small group of students that we work with who share similar start-off skill sets and long-term goals. This maintains a small teacher-to-student ratio while allowing fun and interactive learning games and activities to be played with other children. 

Pods are limited to a maximum of five children depending on enrollment. 

Step 3: Choose the Program That Best Suits Your Needs

We have several tutoring options at "Ready, Set, Read".  You can decide what model works best for you, your family and your schedule.

50-minute tutoring sessions are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4 pm to 8 pm. Saturday sessions are also available beginning at 9 am to 12 pm.
