Introducing RSC lab
RSC(Robust and safe control) lab is a research group in the school of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea, led by Prof. Hyung Tae Choi.
Our lab aims to develop mathematical and control-theoretic arguments to ensure the robustness and safety of control systems. We're also interested in applying our developed methods to practical control systems such as robotic systems and autonomous vehicles.
Positions opening at RSC
We're looking for students to work with. We'll welcome students with at least one of the following skills or interest.
1) Students who are interested in dealing with control systems (e.g., robotic manipulator, mobile robots, autonomous vehicles, etc)
2) Students who have (strong) backgrounds in mathematics (linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, etc)
3) Students who enjoy applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in engineering
4) Students who want to secure job positions in the field of control or robotics
We currently have the following positions opened (June 26, 2026):
Graduate students (integrated program recommended)
The position is closed currently, while a few positions (1~2) might be available with limited supports (discussion required).
Undergraduate students (research interns)
Currently, a few positions (1-2) are available for those who are highly motivated themselves.
The positions for summer interns in 2026 are closed now.
Please contact us via email (htchoi@cau.ac.kr) if you are interested in joining RSC! It is recommended to contact us with:
A copy of your transcript including GPA (for all grades)
A short CV that describes your interest in control/robotics and your skill sets (e.g., math, programming language, etc)
