Introducing RSC lab
RSC(Robust and safe control) lab is a research group in the school of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea, led by Prof. Hyung Tae Choi.
Our lab aims to develop mathematical and control-theoretic arguments to ensure the robustness and safety of control systems. We're also interested in applying our developed methods to practical control systems such as robotic systems and autonomous vehicles.
Positions opening at RSC
We're looking for students to work with. We'll welcome students with at least one of the following skills or interest.
1) Students who are interested in dealing with control systems (e.g., robotic manipulator, mobile robots, autonomous vehicles, etc)
2) Students who have (strong) backgrounds in mathematics (linear algebra, differential equations, real/complex analysis, etc)
3) Students who enjoy applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in engineering
4) Students who want to secure job positions in the field of control or robotics
We currently have the following positions opened (Aug. 28, 2026):
Graduate students (integrated program recommended)
One position for integrated program is available for starting in 2027 (Spring/Fall). We are expecting many applicants to be applied for this position!
Undergraduate students (research interns)
A few positions (1-2) are available for those who are highly motivated themselves. If there are more than one applicants, the ones who are willing to apply for graduate program will take priority.
Please contact us via email (htchoi@cau.ac.kr) if you are interested in joining RSC! It is recommended to contact us with:
A copy of your transcript including GPA (for all grades)
A short CV that describes your interest in control/robotics and your skill sets (e.g., math, programming language, etc)
