Marshal Grouchy's own account of the battle of Waterloo : printed for private distribution only from originals in the collections of W. K. Bixby was created to allow for non-French readers to read Marshal Emmanuel Grouchy’s, the last Marshal of Napoleon’s empire, personal account of the Battle of Waterloo. This firsthand account includes strategic decisions described by the military leader. Grouchy’s perspective on the Battle of Waterloo and its related events is also included. Grouchy created this account to give his side of the story, and historians still use it today to learn more about the Battle of Waterloo, looking at this historic event through the eyes of a crucial player in Napoleon’s plans.
