Who can be my reader?

You want me to read your book. Will I?

I may not be interested in Romance, so if you write a romantic story, I will not be interested.

Let’s say you write a mystery, what then? I love mysteries. But not one that takes place in a  city or involves police procedural. I like mysteries that take place in a remote location with a limited number of suspects and a comic detective.

Now, by sheer luck, you do write exactly what I like. Why should I read you? I have never heard of you. I don’t know if your mysteries have anything unique. I have no idea whether you can surprise me like my favorite mystery writer writes.

With so many of my wants and needs, how can you ever hope to convince me to read your book?

You can’t.

But, you don’t have to. I am not the only reader. There are crores of people around the world. Someone will like what you write. Not just someone, you might have a huge number of people who absolutely would love to read what you write. 

All you need to do is reach them.
