Authors need Readers.
Let's be honest. The best literature is that understood by few and read by even less - this is not the kind of achievement we want!Â
We want people to read our work, tell their favorite parts, fall in love with the hero (or heroine), hate the villain, and tell us how good we are. Some of us wouldn't even mind harsh criticisms or hate. What we definitely do not want is zero engagement. No one read our work. No one knows our work exist. We have no readers.
But that is the reality today. Publish a book, put it on Amazon Kindle, and wait with bated breath. And keep waiting. And waiting. There are no buyers. No readers. Why?
Where are all the readers? How do we find them?
For that, we must understand the reader. I will discuss this in my next post.
