Understanding Readers

If I have time, what will I read? 

I might pick an author who I have liked and enjoyed. Let's say Agatha Christie or Satyajit Ray. Something more contemporary? Perhaps Terry Pratchett or Amish Tripathi. 

But what if I have already read their books? What if I do not want to spend money to buy their new books. What then? Will I go for a book by a new author? I did, but only because I saw a series, and wanted to know what happened next. That is, if I can find it for free. Who will risk paying for a book I don't know if I will like? I found the audio-book free on YouTube, so I listened to it. 

Bottom line, I did not try a new author. Reasons? Reluctance to give anytime to something which I am not 90% sure I will enjoy.

How will you convince me to read your book?

I will tell you one thing - if I have repeatedly heard about a book, if I like the synopsis, if it is the genre I like, and it’s easily available to me; I will read your book!
