On the first Thursday of every month, we hold a Thespian Meeting in Ford's Theatre from 4:30pm until about 5pm. Every meeting we recognize our Thespian of the Month, laugh at the joke of the month, get updates for exciting events to come, and play games! See you at the next meeting!!

Yay! First meeting of the year!!
About 50-60 people showed up, with ~27.1% being freshmen, ~31.2% being sophomores, ~27.1% being juniors, and 14.6% being seniors! The Thespian officers introduced themselves and talked about the audition workshop, It's A Wonderful Life auditions & callbacks, the technician interest form for It's A Wonderful Life, Pippin auditions, and the upcoming Troupe Night. The Thespian of the Summer was announced to be Zachary Nelson, Noah told us the joke of the day (it was very cool [pun intended]) and we played the Opinions Game!!

Welcome back Thespians!!
At this meeting, the officers talked about how auditions went, the upcoming troupe night, Pippin dance rehearsals, Thespian points, and Thespian groupings, which will be sorted out soon. The Thespian of August was announced to be Mae Bridges, Noah told the joke of the day, and we played Why Are You Late!

At this meeting, we collected permission forms for the club (there is more information about those on the Important Updates page), we got a good amount so great job to everyone who turned them in on time. The officers reminisced on the troupe night, how Pippin dance and vocal rehearsal has been going, and the IAWL build day (at the time, only one had happened). They then talked about upcoming events, such as the next build day (which by the time this is being posted will have already happened, apologies), the Halloween party, TOTSKCE, the Texas Thespians State Festival (aka Thespian State), and the Homecoming float decorating & parade. We also mentioned the callboard Google form that allows you to submit pictures to be placed in the Ford's Theater window displays (more about that on the Important Updates page). The Thespian of September was announced to be Madi Vance, Noah told a FIRE joke of the day (pun intended), and we played Squirt!
Things are ramping up this month, so get ready for more Thespian fun!!
Welcome to autumn, Thespians!!
At our November meeting we did a recap of our Homecoming Parade, Halloween party, TOTSKCE, and It's A Wonderful Life. We discussed Thespian State, including reminders for actors to work on their IEs, explaining our groups for Thespian State, and then we gave out some information about our upcoming Holiday party. We also reminded our Thespians the expectations in our troupe and what behaviors/jokes are unacceptable. The Thespian of October was announced to be Joshua Luther, Noah's joke was panda-tastic, and we played a fun pirate game!
Some things are ending while others are beginning; it's an exciting time of year for RRHS Theatre! See you all next time!!

At our January Thespian Meeting, we talked about how Pippin tickets are going live this Saturday (1/10) (so post about it!!), UIL auditions will take place on February 3rd & 4th after school (location TBD), and the Spamalot troupe night. Thespian of December was revealed to be Brandon Jones, Noah told the joke of the neigh- I mean- day, and we played Grandma's Keys!!

At our February meeting, we recapped Pippin, talked about Tartuffe auditions and information about the show and UIL, and our upcoming Heller Awards for Young Artists nomination video watch party. Thespian of January was revealed to be Smalls Berggren, Noah told the joke of the day, and we didn't play a game because auditions started immediately after the meeting!

At our March meeting, we talked about Tartuffe, the upcoming HAYA Watch Party, the Thespian Yearbook photo this Monday, our Troupe Movie Night in April, a potential Black Box Lighting Workshop, and the Production Shows. Thespian of February was revealed to be Travis LaPierre, we laughed at Noah's comical joke of the day, and we played Bunny Bunny!
