My compositional practice begins with translating feelings that cannot be expressed in words,or lived and imagined experiences that are difficult to articulate, into music.
My first album, The Moments, consists of six pieces.
Throughout the album, I explored a dialogue between Iranian and Western musical traditions, using elements of Western classical harmony and form alongside elements rooted in Iranian music.
The role of each instrument is particularly important to me.
The piano is my primary voice—the instrument through which I express my most personal emotions. The kamancheh represents my Iranian roots, bringing its distinctive depth, warmth, and emotional quality, as well as elements of Iranian melodic language. The harmonica, through the intimacy of breath within its sound, helps create moments of particular sensitivity and emotional intensity.
In all six pieces, the harmonic language and formal structures are rooted in the Western classical tradition, while the melodies emerge from my own creativity, inner feelings, and Iranian musical roots
. For me, this is a way of creating a musical dialogue between East and West—not simply combining two traditions, but finding a transparent space between them where emotion can be shared.
I am interested in the transparency that music can create between different cultural worlds, allowing feelings to travel beyond language and cultural boundaries and giving listeners from different backgrounds the possibility of connecting with them through their own experiences.
After The Moments, I continued exploring the translation of nature into music through individual pieces inspired by natural images and landscapes, including Bright Farm and Sunrise.
