Effective date: October 3, 2026 · Applies to Rowsy for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, its widgets and its share extension.
No account, no ads, no tracking across apps or websites, no data sold. Ever.
Your projects, counters, patterns, photos, notes and stash are stored on your devices and in your own private iCloud. We cannot see them.
No analytics. To manage subscriptions, the app uses RevenueCat with an anonymous ID; it never receives your content.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card or your Apple Account.
Rowsy is developed and published by Yassine Hammouti, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). For any privacy question or request, write to hammouti.yassine89@gmail.com.
Everything you create in Rowsy is stored locally on your device. If iCloud is turned on for Rowsy, it is also synced through Apple’s CloudKit into the private database of your own iCloud account. This data is protected by Apple and is not accessible to us. It includes:
projects, counters, row reminders, sessions and crafting time;
PDF patterns and web pages you import, with your ruler position and notes;
photos of your projects and yarn, and your yarn and tool inventory (stash);
your app settings.
Apple Watch. Counts made on your Apple Watch are sent directly to your iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity, device to device. They do not pass through our servers (we don’t have any).
Widgets, Live Activity and Siri. They read your current project and row from a storage area shared on your device only.
Backups and exports. When you export a backup, a CSV file or a project sheet, the file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to save or share it.
Recently Deleted. Deleted items are kept on your devices and in your iCloud for 30 days so you can restore them, then removed.
Rowsy does not include any analytics or advertising SDK. We do not collect statistics about how you use the app.
Rowsy Pro subscriptions are sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or your Apple Account.
To check whether Rowsy Pro is active on all your devices, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random, anonymous app user ID created by the SDK, your App Store purchase receipts and subscription status (product, price, currency, dates, trial, renewal or cancellation), and basic technical data (app version, operating system version, device model, country and language). It does not receive your projects, patterns, photos or notes, your name or your email. This data is used only to provide your purchases and to give us aggregate subscription figures. It is not linked to your identity and not used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat processes it under its own privacy policy and data-processing terms, with protection at least equal to this policy.
Camera — only when you choose to photograph a project or a yarn. Photos stay in the app and your iCloud.
Add to Photos — only when you save your finished-object card to your photo library. Rowsy cannot read your library; when you pick a photo, Apple’s picker gives the app only the photo you chose.
Notifications — local reminders scheduled on your device (for example a row reminder or a gentle “pick up your project” nudge). We don’t send push marketing.
You can change these permissions any time in the iOS Settings app.
If you save a web page into Rowsy (for example a free pattern from a blog), the app loads that page directly from its website to turn it into a PDF on your device. As with any browser, that website receives a normal request from your device and its own privacy policy applies. Rowsy does not send the address or the content to us.
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and the app version and device model that the app pre-fills (you can remove them before sending). We use this only to answer you, we don’t add you to any mailing list, and we delete support conversations within 24 months after the last exchange.
Subscription data handled through RevenueCat is processed to provide the purchase you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Support emails are processed to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Access, export: Settings → Export & import in the app gives you all your data as a backup or CSV file.
Delete: delete projects in the app, or delete the app and its iCloud data (iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Rowsy → Delete Data).
Support emails: ask us at the address above to see or delete our exchanges.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you have rights to access, correct, delete and object to processing, and to complain to your data-protection authority. Because RevenueCat only knows an anonymous ID, write to us with your purchase date if you want your subscription record deleted.
California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information.
Rowsy is a general-audience crafting app. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your content is protected by Apple’s device and iCloud security. Subscription data is processed by RevenueCat (United States) under standard contractual clauses. Support emails are handled through Google’s email service.
If we change how Rowsy handles data, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app for any significant change. We will never start selling data or showing ads.
