Portland Rowing is one, if not the, newest and most exciting Division I rowing programs in the country.
The West Coast Conference added women’s rowing to its list of championships in 1997 with five of the league’s eight member schools: Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Saint Mary’s, San Diego, and Santa Clara.
In 2012, Portland added a rowing team and 2011 was the first year the WCC welcomed an affiliate member, Creighton. The event now hosts seven teams each year and has been held at Lake Natoma (Sacramento, CA) since its inception.
