RESEARCH FOCUS

What are the adaptations for moving, getting food, survival and reproduction that this animal uses? YOU NEED TO FIND:

• at LEAST 2 adaptation for behavior (the way an animal acts

PROJECT TIMELINE

1. Day 1:
   • You will select an animal to research.
   • You will use library print resources to record information about your animal on a note-taking sheet that will be given to you.
2. Day 1:
   • You will access the Ross Library webpage for access to school databases: http://www.nhsd.net/library9140.aspx
   • You will use World Book online and Britannica Kids online databases to search for answers to fill in any unfinished or incomplete areas of research.

DURING RESEARCH YOU SHOULD:

Focus on animal adaptations that help your animal to survive and live in its environment. These can be things like adaptations for moving, getting food, protection and reproduction. Make sure you are focusing on the PENNSYLVANIA version of your selected animal.

FINAL PROJECT

You will create a trading card for the animal you researched and will be able to "trade" your animal cards with your classmates to compare the animals' adaptations and discuss which would survive longer in a new environment.
