Online Teaching Excellence at George Mason University
EDUCATOR & ONLINE TEACHING SPECIALIST
Associate Professor of Management
Dean’s Teaching Faculty Fellow
Costello College of Business
George Mason University
I am in my ninth year of teaching in the Costello College of Business at Mason. I am the Professor in charge of the foundation course in Management---MGMT 303 Principles of Management. I serve as the course coordinator and design and deliver the course in multiple modalities (online, hybrid and face to face).
I have been teaching online since 2009 at various institutions (Towson, George Washington and UMUC). I was hired at GMU in 2015 to run one of the only online courses in the School of Business. When COVID hit I was well prepared for the virtual classroom. I mentored several colleagues over the last 5 years to help transition to the online teaching space. I am dedicated to online teaching excellence to provide an exceptional online learning experience. My goal is to design courses that empower learners through innovative teaching practices and educational resources.
This portfolio will showcase several of my online courses that I have spent years designing. I will share a variety of activities, cases and practices used to enhance the learning environment for Mason students. Hopefully this portfolio will provide a snapshot of the my philosophy and mindset for teaching online.
