SAND TIMER

WHAT: I use sand timers in the classroom at every level. For littles, this is a useful tool for visualizing time. Scholars are taught the first day of class how to utilize the timer to take turns amongst each other. For elementary students, the sand timer (longer times too of 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes) are great for completing a workbook page or writing.

The sand timer is as useful in the classroom as it is at home. This is brilliant for solving sibling disputes to not have to involve you and can fairly take turns. You may use it in the kitchen. For example, steep a tea bag and have your little use the sand timer to know when to take the tea bag out. I use sand timers for all kinds of movement such as holding a plank or completeing an exercise instead of having to count repetitions.

BOOK STAND

WHAT: I use book stands in the classroom at every level. This is a favorite because it is sturdy, holds bigger books, and can stand the book up super straight at the top rung. Scholars in my classroom use this book stand constantly.

In the home, as an example, I use this every morning to prop a book up to chat about and for him to examine while I simultaneously cook breakfast.
