Genre analysis — digital discourse — English for Specific Purposes
Hello! I am an associate professor at the University of Zaragoza, a member of the Digital Science Lab affiliated to the BIFI Research Institute and part of the research group GENCI: Genres and Science.
My main research interests are digital genre analysis and online scientific communication, namely the dissemination of scientific knowledge on social media platforms, and how researchers use language and other semiotic resources to communicate to expert and non-expert audiences.
I have also carried out research on corpus linguistics, internationalisation, and EAP (English for academic purposes).
In December 2019, I received my PhD in English Studies, written under the supervision of Prof. Carmen Pérez-Llantada, where I examined the role of English and language strategies in the internationalisation of Spanish higher education from a top-down point of view, using corpus linguistics and critical discourse analysis. I have also been a visiting scholar at the Economic University of Bucharest (2017) the University of Birmingham (2018), and Aarhus University (2025).
