Roots to Rise is designed by the Illinois Education Association's Aspiring Educators Executive Team to help Aspiring Educators cultivate chapters that are inclusive, resilient, and built to last. Whether you're launching a new chapter or looking to breathe life into an existing one, this framework equips you with the tools, mindset, and strategies needed for long-term success.

Through the use of this framework, you will dig deep into the foundational "roots" that nourish thriving chapters, including vision, structure, inclusivity, leadership, engagement, and advocacy. You'll develop a clearer understanding of how to build systems that sustain momentum, empower new leaders, and foster a strong culture of belonging and purpose.

You will:

• Reflect on your chapter’s current strengths and areas for growth.

• Learn practical tools for leadership succession and membership retention.

• Create a customized “Belonging Blueprint” to guide inclusive practices.

• Develop a Root Audit action plan to support sustainability in the year ahead.
