I bought my first metal detector around 1973. I think it was a White's 5000 D. I found a few coins with it, but never really got into it until I traded it in for a White's 6000 D. That machine changed everything. You could swing it fast and it wouldn't miss much. You could cover many times the area you could with the older machines in less time. I ran that machine for years and found tons of coins with it. My hunting was done mostly in Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana. I concentrated on old church yards and one room school house sites. In the menu you will find stories of some of my better hunts. Enjoy!
