Enhanced Reporting Features in Power BI
To meet additional business requirements, we designed and implemented advanced reporting capabilities within Power BI. These features provided actionable insights and supported better decision-making by stakeholders. The key reports and features included:
Attendance Analysis:
A report for course instructors highlighting students with more than 10% absences in their courses.
This threshold was configurable, allowing instructors to adjust the percentage as needed.
Insights on day-wise attendance trends, identifying the day of the week with the highest absences.
Analysis of course-level attendance, pinpointing which courses had the highest and lowest absence rates.
Financial Insights:
Average payments per course: Summarized payment data to understand revenue trends by course.
Debtor Report: A detailed view of students who owed more than a specified percentage (X%) of their course costs. This threshold was configurable for flexibility.
Payment Method Distribution: Visual breakdown of payment methods (e.g., credit card, bank transfer) at both the college-wide and course-specific levels.
Enrollment and Interest Metrics:
Frozen Students Report: A detailed list showing the number of students who had paused their studies, categorized by course and course type.
Interest Analysis: Reports on the most and least popular courses within each category, helping to identify trends in course preferences and guide future offerings.
These reports were designed with user interactivity in mind, allowing users to apply filters, drill down into specific details, and explore data at different levels of granularity. Together, they provided a comprehensive view of attendance, financial performance, and course engagement, aligning with the project's objectives to support dynamic, data-driven decision-making.
