This work explores the use of deep learning for automatic classification of foraminifera species from CT scan image input. This is a collaboration with my KVL teammates and KAUST researchers. It is out now in arXiv with a journal submission underway.
I developed an augmented reality application that was used in the live presentation and conference booth of the KAUST-led winning team for the Gordon Bell Prize for Climate Modeling 2024. The desktop version of the application is also available for download.
A recent collaboration with Dr. Viswasanthi Chandra resulted in a publication in Geoscience Frontiers. In this project, I helped develop and implement the semi-automatic segmentation technique for micro-CT scans of carbonate nodules using Ilastik and Avizo.
This VR experience was part of a showcase that won a Golden Medal at the 2024 International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva. I developed the VR application in collaboration with the KAUST Marine Microbiomes Lab led by Prof. Raquel Peixoto.
This work on the development of a new membrane technology for propylene/propane separation was published at the journal Small. I worked with KAUST PhD student Daria Poloneeva on the 3D segmentation and analysis of SEM images using Avizo.
PlantSeg is a Matlab app that I developed for segmentation and analysis of roots/shoots photos used in the paper (now available in eLife) that was done in collaboration with Prof. Mark Tester (KAUST) and Prof. Magdalena Julkowska (Boyce Thompson Inst.).
