Like the name says, house, specifically Garage House, is the name of the game. Garage house runs 125-130bpm, piano/organ, disco/soul samples. The tracks baseline are all simple but that allows skaters to choose how involved their skating will be. The BPM is pretty fast for most other style skaters; quite a few people I know that have moved from the Midwest or West Coast don't have styles that are attuned to such a high pace.
Love is the Message - 117bpm (warmup)
If I Can’t Get Down (Mousse T.'s Funky Shizzle Extended Mix) - 124bpm
Deep Inside - 124bpm
A Black Man in Space (Sax Mix) - 126bpm
You can listen to a full playlist of tracks here.
Pivot ,pivot, pivot!
Pivots are the main element of the style, the skater rotates around their front or rear two wheels [of the pivoting foot]. Forwards to backwards pivots are around the front two wheels, Backward to forwards pivots are executed on the rear two wheels.
Partner style has two skaters link up and keep the beat together.
Trains&Trios are an extension of the partner style.
Highlights coming soon!
They say the best rink on the East Coast was Branch Brook... I haven't been proved otherwise yet.
