note: Site under construction! — I was tempted to title this "Skate Skool" but resisted my inner 8-year-old.
We invite all visitors to self-identify and absorb as much as you can. We split content based on what is practically useful for the level of the skater. e.g., A novice will have little use for a custom boot especially since they likely would not be able to fully appreciate the features it has. There is a search bar in the top right so you can find the specific subject that you are looking for.
This section is dedicated to un-initiated and novice skaters. Whether you are looking for your first pair of skates to figuring out how to roll on your own, this section is for you!
Everyone has to start somewhere. Here are some of the tips, pointers, and to get you rolling to your next level.
Skate packages for those new to skating
Commonly asked beginner questions
Raw technique drills to hone balance
Things to remember to carry with you
This section is dedicated to skaters who can stand upright and roll around in the oval but haven't built their portfolio of skate moves yet. Beginner skaters are learning how their body's position and balance relate to what their skates do. Everything here is the progression to get past your "Bambi-stage."
Skaters usually start asking questions about what skate gear—e.g., wheels, plates, and boots do and how they relate to skating performance.

"Once you (mostly) stop falling because of what you're not doing and start falling because of what you're learning to do (beyond moving around), you're probably not a beginner anymore."
~ Semininja
This section will be for skaters who are starting to explore the depth of skate styles. Competent skaters can skate forwards and backwards with relative ease. They have good spatial awareness of their skates enough to not be tripped up on crossovers and transitions. Competent skaters are not focused on not falling; they are wholly working toward specific skill goals.
This spot is for you if you are building your portfolio of skate moves for dance, derby, ARS, or street skating that will help you excel in your sub-discipline. You might be able to do many skate moves but it requires [a lot of] focus/mental work.

This section will be for skaters who have established styles and moves that they can execute very well at a moment's notice and even without thinking about how to do them, but simply executing. The rink, park, or street is not intimidating to them at all. Skating is like breathing for proficient skaters.
If you have specific subjects to develop this section, I will do my best to add new sections; email me at RollsRight8@gmail.com.
