National Sport: Arnis

The Philippines gave birth to the indigenous martial art of Arnis. Arnis was created as a self-defense system for both an effective self-defense system and a training approach free of injuries.

It is not surprising that Arnis, the national sport of the Philippines, represents the history, philosophy, and culture of the Filipino people. It is a combat style that is better understood by considering its past and how deeply ingrained it is in the Philippines' diverse society.
