The chocolate box project was particularly challenging, in a wonderful way. As students, we were tasked with completing several assignments in one presentation. We had a certain period to work on it in class, and then the rest on our own. We were given the opportunity to be as creative and intellectual as can be. The aim was to express what we learned in the unit in a unique way, without having to answer a set of questions. We had different options, like, creating an assignment for students, drafting a poem, writing a song, creating an infographic, etc. Each task had to display our understanding of the topic, which was how different drugs work, and their effect on a person. This project helped me develop two CART habits of mind, create and imagine. To complete this assignment, I had to create a certain presentation that taught about a drug, and its effect on a person. I, then, had to imagine the best way to create the project, whether that be online or on paper. My favorite part about the chocolate box activity was expressing what I learned in a way that I like, in a way that I can enjoy creating. Taking something challenging, and difficult to understand, and making it into something people can enjoy learning about.
