A significant aspect of my work has been collaborating with policymakers in developing countries and staff of international organizations to enhance public policies and generate knowledge that can improve people's lives. This work involves translating academic knowledge into the policy environment, developing capacity-building actions, and promoting an evidence-based culture in policy spaces.
Current Projects:
Currently, I co-lead the Equality Theme at UNU-WIDER with more important roles on two specific projects:
Inequality Over the Life Course
Climate Change, Poverty and inequality: impacts and resilience strategies
Past (recent) Projects:
In addition, I was the core researcher in the project Strengthening safety nets in post-conflict and humanitarian contexts. Finally, I participated in the SOUTHMOD project, which supported the Tax and Benefit Microsimulation Model for developing countries. I was the focal point for the project in Mozambique, Tanzania, and Zanzibar.
In those projects, I develop projects and activities with many organizations such as Unicef - Zambia, ILO - Zambia and Mozambique, Ministry of Economic and Finance - Moz, Zipar - Zambia, Ministry of Community Development - Zambia, Ministry of Education - Zambia, Ministry of Community Development - Zambia, University of Dar es Salaam, University Eduardo Mondlane.
Affirmative Action. In Brazil, I have been developing a project named UFBA em Dados, which aims to organize administrative data for the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and produce research outputs that enable the university to improve its academic practices. This project produced many published papers, undergraduate monographs, and master's dissertations. Ongoing work on affirmative action and role models is being developed with the data at the moment.
