Capital Improvement Projects

W. Kaufman St., N. 1st St., & W. Rusk St. Water Line Replacement

Current Status: Start Construction (January 6, 2020)

Project Scope:

  • Replacement of approximately 1,240 linear feet of existing two-inch (2") water line with new eight-inch (8") PVC water line.

East Fork Wastewater Line Aerial Crossing Rehabilitation

Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM

Current Status: Engineering design (topographic & ROW survey) no construction anticipated at this time (design only)

Project Scope:

  • Rehabilitation of an existing ten-inch (10") wastewater line aerial crossing of the creek just north of East Fork Drive.

St. Mary St., Bost St., & Sherman St. Water Line and Wastewater Line Replacement

Project Manager: Jeremy White, P.E., CFM

Current Status: Under Construction

Project Scope:

  • The existing water lines in these streets consist of one-inch (1”) poly lines and two-inch (2”) cast iron lines that do not have any fire hydrants installed on them. The proposed replacement water lines will be constructed using a minimum of eight-inch (8”) PVC pipe and have fire hydrants installed every four hundred feet (400’) and at each street intersection.
  • The proposed eight-inch (8”) wastewater lines will be replacing existing four-inch (4”) cast iron pipes.

Project Update:

  • Last Month’s (December/January) Activities:
    • Performed utility investigation.
    • Start installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on St. Mary Street, starting on Clark Street and working west toward Fannin Street.
    • Start installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on Sherman Street.
  • This Month’s (February) Activities: (weather permitting)
    • Continue installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on St. Mary Street continuing toward Fannin Street.
    • Finish installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on Sherman Street.
    • Start installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on Bost Street
  • Next Month’s (March) Activities: (weather permitting)
    • Finish installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on St. Mary Street.
    • Continue installation of new 8-inch water line and wastewater line on Bost Street.

Turtle Cove and Windmill Ridge Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation

Current Status: Engineering design (topographic & ROW survey) no construction anticipated at this time (design only)

Project Scope:

  • Replacement of existing 1,400 linear foot section of wastewater line in the Turtle Cove Subdivision, up-sizing line from a 10-inch to 12-inch diameter.
  • Replacement of existing 1,150 linear foot section of wastewater line in the Windmill Ridge Subdivision, up-sizing line from a 6-inch to 8-inch diameter.

Buffalo Creek Tributary 1 Sanitary Sewer Interceptor Capacity Improvements

Current Status: Engineering design (topographic & ROW/easement survey) no construction start date determined this time

Project Scope:

  • Upsizing s total of 6,500 linear feet of exist 8-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch sanitary sewer interceptor pipe.
