TWEYES
TWEYES
TWEYES (/twʌɪs/; formed 2019) is a duo group consisting of Martina Muhvić (singer) and Roby M. Beki (singer, multi-instrumentalist & arranger). The couple is most known for the performance of Roby's original songs V-day, Honeybee, Kiss Of A Dead Girl, Next Holidays, Am I Worth It? and Tire Not. They also recorded a cover of Neil Sedaka's 1974 hit song Laughter In The Rain.
Name Origin
The name TWEYES is a combination of the words 'twice' and 'eyes', pronounced the same way as "twice". The name originates from one of Roby's early childhood memories when he met Martina as a small child at a monument in a small town by the Croatian countryside. This memory inspired the name, as Roby felt that encountering Martina later in life represented a second chance; their first meeting had come too early and they hadn't seen each other again until their teenage years—except for a brief encounter in a hospital when Roby was bitten by an aggressive dog at the age of 12, where neither of them remembered each other's names. According to Roby, after already meeting twice eye to eye, their third meeting was the cherry on top.
Logo Origin
The official TWEYES logotype was created by Tina in 2025. After both she and Roby came up with hundreds of different sketches for the design over multiple days in the past few years (some of them done by Roby back in 2022), they chose their logo from a sketch Tina drew on January 23. It has now become a staple of their band.
The Sedaka Cover
The cover of Neil Sedaka's song Laughter in the Rain was recorded by TWEYES in 2019, although it wasn't posted on YouTube until 2023. An unmastered mix version of was up on Roby's Instagram from 2019 until 2025.
This song has a long history for the cover artists. On a rainy day in 2018, Martina and Roby, who lived apart and went to high schools in different parts of Croatia, went on a trip to the capital city, Zagreb, too meet up, each on their own by a bus. The day was gloomy and cold, leaving them with only a few hours to spend together. A significant portion of that time was spent under a blue umbrella. Roby was listening to Neil Sedaka's song on the bus and realized that Martina had probably never heard of it. He told her to take a listen as they walked. Standing at a crossroads, each of them with one earpiece, hugging and swaying to the music.
This moment is one of key reasons this song resonated with Roby so much, inspiring him to make a cover of it. A few years later, in 2021, he finally did. As Roby states in his YouTube description, they sang their hearts out that day. He played most of the parts from memory, adding their own little acoustic spin to it.

On January 27, 2023, the song Next Holidays [Acoustic Version - extended] was released as a TWEYES duet. Originally the third track on Roby's first album, it was written on August 8, 2019. The song reflects feelings about not being able to be together during the winter holidays and was penned during Roby's summer holidays. Inspired by playing his synth at home, the lyrics quickly resonated with him amid uncertainties about his future, prolonged driving lessons, and a long-distance relationship. Roby vividly recalls writing the lyrics, sending them to Tina, and feeling excited about their creation. After more than a year of waiting for the snow to fall and renovating his studio, TWEYES finally shot, edited and color graded the music video in just 2 days.

On June 7, 2024, TWEYES released Shakes And Ice Cream Cones, a whimsical song Roby came up with in his back yard, playing guitar and walking with Tina in June 2019. The track captures the joy of making great summer memories. While recording this song, Roby often playfully altered his vocal to sound more child-like, reflecting the innocence and happiness of a grown man with a child's soul—a theme he explores more deeply through songs like Inner Child and Kids. This playful vocal performance can be heard more prominently in the bridge of V-Day.

On December 12, 2024, TWEYES released Look At The Clouds as the last song on the Old-New Album project. The main riff, which is played on an acoustic guitar, was created back in 2017 and was recorded on Roby's phone. Roby tried to write lyrics for it multiple times throughout the years, but nothing he wrote resonated with him. In December 2024 he tried again and finally came up with lyrics that would perfectly fit as the last song on his 10th album. He also suggested Tina to sing along with him to share the experience of finishing the project.

Recorded to celebrate the spring equinox on March 20th, 2026, at 5:24 (UTC+1), TWEYES released their cover of Terry Jacks' hit song Seasons In The Sun. It being one of Roby's childhood favorites, he took the liberty to change / modernize some of its lyrics and harmonies to better match his duet with Tina. Roby has been listening to it since childhood, almost every spring and summer. It has deeply engraved itself into his musical memory over the years, and he really felt like doing a cover of it would be an interesting way of paying homage to it (and the French original). Few realize that Terry Jacks' iconic hit is actually an interpolated cover of Jacques Brel's Le Moribond. Though Brel's original predates it, it never hit the same emotional heights, or captured the public imagination the way Jacks' bold, unforgettable version did. Roby's take on the song is this: "...to me, this song isn't purely about death, loss, or pure morbidity conveyed in a happy manner... it always felt like a sigh of relief after a life well spent, but I didn't want to overdo it on the happiness scale not to ruin it, so I did what I do best (which is arrange) and created a positive-energy song with a more mystical ending..." as he stated in the video's description.
