I am a research director of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). I am working as senior geophysicist at the Istituto di Geologia Ambientale e Geoingegneria, wich is an Institute of the Earth System Science and Environmental Technologies Department of CNR.

As a physicist I chose to work in "geology". The geology, conceived in the set of the all geoscience disciplines, has for object of the knowledge the whole earth system, and the other planet systems of the solar system, now and in the future accessible not only with astronomical observation. It has its own theories and laws, its methods of data acquisition and analysis. It formulates hypotheses and models on: the earth and planet system and its constituent components, the endogenous and esogenous processes that characterize it and determining its evolution. In my opinion, the geophysics, as all the other geo-disciplines, is not a science itself, but it is one of the powerful tools of the geology to know the world with which we must interact in a sustainable and fruitful way.

My research activity involves: teaching and formation at Milano Bicocca University, research and development in: geophysics and applied geophysics, and third mission in geoscience: research social acceptance and public engagement, public dissemination, research trasferability, support to private and public actuators.
