The circle's personality is very different depending on whether it is alone or gathered with other circles. Living alone, I realized that there are times when I need to stand firm on my own like a circle, and other times when I try to blend in with others. Based on this experience, I thought about planning an exhibition on the theme of the circle and wondering if I could create more interesting stories with artists who resonate with the theme.
We opened an open call to currently active artists both at home and abroad. We incorporated concentric circles into the exhibition title to symbolize the idea of spreading far and wide in a circular fashion, without restrictions on country or art genre. By conducting the application process, preparation, meetings, and exhibition space entirely online, we were able to generate diverse discourses without being constrained by time or location.
