Inspired by Carlo Rovelli's book The Order of Time, I envisioned images of time that does not flow linearly in a straight line.
The idea that time does not flow like an arrow from the past to the future, but is rather a collection of events that extend outward from me as the center.
I cut out and pasted planets and a luminous point with watercolor textures and magazine cutouts onto a watercolor space background, and then added embroidery and pins on top.
This artwork interprets the theme of the 'Circle' using the subject of time. Moving beyond the idea that time flows in a straight line, it reinterprets time based on the perspective that it is a collection of individual events formed by moments. The images of planets and pins, arranged spirally around a radiant point at the center of the screen, symbolize these individual events and are connected by threads emanating from that central point. The center that binds these moments to reconstruct memory and the flow of time is the subjective perception of the individual observer. These events have taken their place in accordance with the process of being reconstructed and bound by the observer's subjective intervention.

I am based in Seoul, South Korea. For a long time, I explored illustration using a wide range of media, including digital illustration, watercolor, gouache, and oil pastel, before developing an interest in embroidery. I aimed to tactilize the message of my work by combining the unique physical properties of embroidery with other materials.
