My Story
When I was a baby, I flew before I could walk—one month old and already on my first adventure! Growing up across three continents—in Hawaiʻi, Australia, New Jersey, Hong Kong, and Singapore—I became a Third Culture Kid with a passport full of stories from 80 countries. So it’s no surprise I said “YES!” right away to teaching everywhere from the world’s busiest cities to one of its most remote: Easter Island. Along the way, I fell in love with cultural exchange, service learning, and the power of language to connect people.
Since 2010, I’ve taught English learners across Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Hawaiʻi, the Philippines, Algeria, Easter Island, and even on a cruise ship! Along the way, I’ve built libraries, published a Bisaya-English children’s book with my Filipino students as a Peace Corps Volunteer, launched Film Pals, a global film festival, and taken language learning to the high seas on three voyages promoting the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Whether talking with kids or Congress, I have learned that to be an ESL teacher is to be a peacebuilder.
My mission is to create dynamic learning experiences that go beyond the textbook—where students connect with the world, explore cultures, and see language not only as a skill, but as a bridge to new opportunities and deeper understanding.
I’ve been fortunate to work with educators, institutions, and U.S. embassies around the world in support of cultural exchange and mutual understanding. I’m always seeking the next great idea, collaboration, or adventure that turns learning into real impact.
Let’s connect and make it happen!
